Thom-Kha @ Thai Cuisine II

Thai Cuisine II is one of my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque, it resides in an old wienerschnitzel building on central in upper Nob Hill. Despite the exterior of the building, the inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and incredibly cozy. Each dish can be made vegan(faux chicken, beef, pork or shrimp), vegetarian (tofu), or with meat (chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp.) Most dishes have a choice of how hot the spice is as well; no chili, mild, medium, hot or Thai hot. Beware of the Thai hot, I believe myself to be a lover of spicy food but this level of spice can and will put hair on your chest.
This Thom-Kha was made with coconut milk, onions, lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, tofu, and garnished with fresh cilantro and green onions. The spice level I chose was Hot.
The dish was beautiful tasting, smelling and looking, this is one of my favorite dishes at the place and it can easily serve two. It is a sweet soup that smells of coconut and has an almost tomato taste. It has tangy notes and a creamy broth that will leave you wanting more. It may seem too exotic for some people, but if given a taste and I am sure it would delight! I am going to give it a 4 out of 5, on account of there not more tofu in it.

Gumbo@Vinaigrette in Santa Fe

I rode the train to Santa Fe and had some of the best Gumbo I ever had. It was spicy at first and then it started tasting sweet/tangy in a good way. If you like spicy thats where you should go to get gumbo,I recommend it and give it a 4 out of 5 rating.
